It has been a day in which I delight. The kind of day that feeds my soul. Coffee with my husband, our Saturday morning ritual, well most mornings we drink coffee together, but Sat morning is special. I have a friend who goes for coffee with her husband early in the morning. Through the years as we have spent weekends together, they are up and out the door before most of us are awake. I enjoy going for a drive on occasion, but our habit has been to wake the morning with coffee, mostly in the dark or very little light (Scott I know you are screaming about this now!) and watch the day come to life, discussing whatever passes through our brains...
I fixed breakfast, pancakes, yum, with Kaula!, new experiment(that's for you Mike) thinly sliced bananas and pecans...tasty! A phone call from my far away friend I have also enjoyed today! Oh what a blessing she has been in my life. I truly love that lady! I would wish every woman a friend like her. This lady knows no stranger, befriends authentically everyone she meets, from the dry cleaning woman to the 7-eleven clerk! We chatted and got caught up on life, her husbands new decision which means another adventure for her! Cooking school? Do they know what that will be? LOL! Hang on Carole is all I have to say!
It was beautiful outside this morning, then, not now. So, I finally pulled out the last two plants in my front yard that I just don't like and planted my hydrangea, did some trimming, pulled a few weeds, awesome! Why is it, like painting, when the yard is trimmed and weeded it just gives me such satisfaction. Of course, it is blowing gale force winds outside now, and I'm not sure a person will be able to tell I worked in the yard at all! And then off for a walk with Duane and another cup of coffee on the patio as we watched the wind begin to REALLY blow! Finally went inside to run the vacuum and dust, clean bathrooms...ahhhh...Duane helped by running the dust cloth and 'cooked' dinner ( a trip to Road Kill Grill) as I finished some laundry. And now, it's time to climb into clean sheets, after a hot bath and a glass of wine...hmmmm...red, a new favorite, Blackstone. It truly has been a good day!

I love days just like the one you described. No agenda, no plans, just fulfilling tasks and contentment. Glad you had a good day.

Carol, I pictured you on the back porch with your coffee and I soooo wanted to be right there with you! :) That sounds like a beautiful way to welcome the morning. I love you!
